Anxious and Depressive Trend in Psychogenic Pain Patients




Abstract
In order to compared and investigate the characteristics of the pain that psychogenic and organic patients complain and to establish correlationship between psychogenic pain and anxious or depressive trend, this study was attempted.
The author has tried to distinguish the subjects into psychogenic pain group and organic pain groups. By psychiatric interview and questionnaire survey.
The collected data were analysed through the SPSS- program. The statistical methods employed were chi-square test, F-test, and multiple regression analysis.
@ES The summary of the results were as follows:
@EN 1) considering the relation between the depressive trend and pain. The depressive trend is high in psychogenic pain group with the total score of self-rating depression scale, 51.21 8.58, compared with that of the organic pain group
46.24¡¾9.14.
2) Analysed into the 5 subcategories in self-rating depression scale, the score of the pervasive affect and the other disturbances tends to the high in the psychogenic pain group, compared with the organic pain group.
3) Considering the relation between the anxious trend and the pain, the anxious trend is high in the psychogenic pain group with the total score of self-rating anxiety scale 48.85¡¾14.31, compared with the organic pain group, 35,58¡¾12.98.
4) Analysed into the 8 subcategories in self-rating anxiety scale, the score of the somatic symptoms, especially the musculoskeletal system is high in the psychogenic pain group. compared with the orgainc pain group; those of the cardiovascular,
the
respiratory and central nervous system tend to be high.
5) Because both the depressive and the anxious trends are high in psychogenic pain group, compared with the organic pain group, the plans to improve affect must be a part of treatment of psychogenic pain.
